Systems Analyst Senior (Guidewire Developer) (MAPFRE U.S.A. Corp.; Webster, MA): The Systems Analyst Senior (Guidewire Developer) role performs detailed Guidewire programming tasks and creates quality Guidewire designs to meet company needs, either through individual efforts or within a team environment. This role actively participates in the decision-making process with IT management and team members and makes recommendations to effectively implement project requirements.  Additional duties include: Applies understanding and knowledge of industry practices, standards, and concepts in the field to perform or lead work requiring extensive analytical business skills; Makes decisions using broad management limits; Applies guidelines and procedures that leave considerable room for discretion and interpretation; Participates in determining objectives of assignments; Works independently under general supervision; Provides mentoring and training to less experienced staff as needed; Takes a lead role in group, team or project; Applies knowledge to determine solutions to complex problems with minimal direction; Uses research and analysis to develop innovative and practical solutions that are consistent with organizational objectives; Contacts other departments and or external organizations or parties at or below upper management levels; and Represents organization on specific projects.  Telecommuting permitted.

 

Minimum requirements:  Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field and 6 years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Guidewire Developer or any occupation/title providing relevant experience with Guidewire platform and coding on Guidewire projects.

 

Must have:  Demonstrated understanding of object-oriented design, and component-based development (ILE); Demonstrated understanding of the Guidewire database, GOSU and the Guidewire application architecture; Demonstrated understanding of file normalization and data modeling techniques; Demonstrated architectural design ability; Demonstrated ability to comprehend and apply a working knowledge of a system development methodology; Demonstrated proficiency in the use of desktop applications; Demonstrated experience with application development tools, SQL, cross-platform processing, & integrating applications; Demonstrated experience with designing and developing via Use Case methodology and interactive system development.
