Job Summary

                                                                    Position can be at a higher level commensurate with experience.      

                                                        Located in Webster, MA or within a commutable distance to accommodate a Hybrid schedule

                                                                                                                   Can be remote.  

 

This position resides in Market Pricing and works alongside IT rating teams to program and validate insurance product rates and related services.  The person in this role will leverage a blend of business and technical competency to carry out their daily tasks.  The requisite coding languages are Python and SQL.

 

  • Review business requirements and IT specifications in course of product deployment
  • Update, code, test, and debug insurance products within Earnix platform
  • Create, run, and modify SQL queries in the cloud
  • Provide and maintain clear, concise documentation and adhere to governance procedures
  • Learn details of premium calculations and become a rating expert
  • Update existing, repetitive work efforts and projects with an eye towards efficiency
  • Identify errors and anomalies when retrieving and manipulating data
  • Understand and use appropriate insurance terminology in the context of analysis and explanations
  • Provide regular and frequent status updates to the Market Pricing Project Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with related experience in Analytics and Programming

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 2+ years’ experience writing complex queries in SQL or Python
  • Earnix experience preferred
  • Homeowner or Auto insurance experience preferred
  • Understands coding efficiency and leverages dynamic coding techniques
  • Capable of producing complex work independently as well as engaging in frequent collaborating with other team members
  • Skilled at problem solving and can draw conclusions from data
  • Strong organizational skills with a commitment to accuracy and high attention to detail
