Summary:
Join our dynamic Advanced Analytics team as a Data Scientist III, apply Artificial Intelligence techniques to drive insights and innovation within MAPFRE. You will aid the decision-making process of business areas by building actionable modeling results. This role works within a highly collaborative environment, influencing projects with high visibility and direct impact on the MAPFRE company strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks without appreciable direction, and exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment, collaborating with the rest of the team
- Communicate project results effectively within and outside AA by developing and automating reports complex model reports, showing their alignment with the company strategy.
- Present model results and lift/efficacy analyses to senior stakeholders
- Apply knowledge to determine solutions to very complex problems with minimal direction, and use research and analysis to develop innovative and practical complex model solutions which are consistent with organizational objectives
- Conduct research around the design, implementation and validation of innovative algorithms in order to analyze diverse data sources that will enable desired business outcomes and successfully develop the use cases
- Accountable for long term ownership of models developed and evolution of those models, proposing improvements to the business areas.
- Coordinate and obtain the economic impact results with the business teams (aligned with KPIs), developing and automating reports and dashboards.
- Work with sparse, high dimensional, and time series data. Apply predictive modeling skills & insurance solid knowledge to design & develop analytic solutions for multiple business areas reflecting corporate goals, experience and current market conditions
- Perform model validation to determine model lift and accuracy, test for reliability and stability of models, and use multiple measures to select final model, selecting the ones that can be conveyed to the stakeholders
- Design and create complex processes and tools to monitor, analyze and maintain model performance
- Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff as needed
- Provide expertise around adopting best in class processes and techniques for AA modeling and statistical analysis
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree* with 8 years’ experience OR Master's Degree with 6 years relevant experience
- Insurance Industry experience is a plus
- Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related quantitative analytical field
- Proficiency in Machine Learning, Python, Spark/pyspark and MLOps: AWS, Cloud9, Jenkins, Airflow, Git
