Summary
A Technical Product Manager understands customer and business needs and translates them into clear, actionable requirements for Guidewire PolicyCenter. The Technical Product Manager owns the PolicyCenter product backlog, defines epics and user stories with strong acceptance criteria, and ensures implementation aligns with the policy lifecycle (submission, issuance, endorsement, renewal, and cancellation).Works with engineers and architects ensuring that requirements are understood, and that implementation plans match expectations. A technical product manager focuses on the technical aspects of product development, working closely with the engineering team to ensure technical feasibility and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Ensures all stages (ideation, development, launch, post-launch) are well-defined.
- Conducts market research and competitive analysis to identify product opportunities and market trends.
- Collaborates with engineering teams to define product features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly, either written or orally with customers, develop, management or peers.
- Conducts user research to understand user needs and translate them into product requirements.
- Creates clear and compelling product presentations tailored for consumption by technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborates with designers, developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure successful product development and launch.
- Works with Product Owners to define product success metrics (KPIs), establish product delivery timelines, and prioritize product backlog items based on their business value and impact.
- Develops and prioritizes the product backlog based on user needs, business value, and technical feasibility.
- Creates and maintains product documentation, including user guides, technical specifications, and release notes.
- Measures product performance & reports them out.
- Stays up to date on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in product management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field. Experience in a technical field can be considered for candidates with a strong understanding of technology concepts.
- Guidewire experience or certification is a big plus .
- 3+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on technical products. Required
- Strong expertise of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, DAD, etc.)
- Working knowledge of user research methodologies (e.g., interviews, usability testing).
- Proficiency in product analytics tools and data analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor presentations for different audiences.
- Decision Making: Makes independent decisions on product strategy, roadmap development, and feature prioritization based on user research, market analysis, and business needs. Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure alignment and address potential risks.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range
$87,000 - $115,000
