Summary

 

Responsible to follow established procedures to review, verify and process incoming insurance-related documentation. Also, assists in supervising the staff members by coordinating and monitoring the timely and accurate completion of the department’s responsibilities.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assists the supervisor in monitoring the unit daily with employee interaction and report completion.
  • Assists in administering MAPFRE Insurance’s personnel policies and procedures for the Support Services Unit. Assists in identifying, analyzing and implementing system and procedural changes, to improve the department’s effectiveness and to provide new services and functions.
  • Trains and develops the unit and their assigned staff members.
  • Performs routine quality control monitoring over the department’s functions, assuring that all responsibilities are performed within acceptable quality control standards.
  • Keeping the Supervisor informed of existing and potential problem situations by communicating them as they occur.
  • Maintaining current procedures, job descriptions and promotion criteria. Initiate changes to these items when necessary.
  • Resolving technical problems.
  • Interacts with the other departments within Insurance Operations as well as other Departments throughout MAPFRE Insurance, as necessary, to assure the effective operation of the department.

 

Skills/Abilities

 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment while leading a team of individuals.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  • Strong PC navigation skills. Microsoft Excel and Word skills required to create and maintain unit reports and templates.
  • Completion of accounting, business, INS21 or INS22 and other insurance classes is desirable.
  • Ability to read color-coded and/or number-coded materials and documents is necessary.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Associates Degree or Technical or specialized knowledge or equivalent, related experience.
  • 1 - 3 years or High School equivalent plus 3 - 5 years.

 

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at MAPFRE are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

 

Salary Range $22.00 - 23.97 per hour
