Mapfre Insurance is seeking highly motivated, intellectually curious college students to join our State Management Analytics Summer Internship Program for a 10-week internship from June 7th - August 13th in Webster, Massachusetts.  At Mapfre Insurance, we're committed to helping the next generation of talent launch meaningful careers. As a Mapfre intern, you'll work on impactful projects that directly support business objectives while gaining valuable insight into the insurance industry. You'll develop professional skills, learn about departmental and corporate operations, build your network through interactions with leaders and fellow interns, and participate in program-wide learning experiences. Interns also come together to give back through a team-based Day of Caring community service project.

 

The State Management Analytics Team plays a critical role in helping Mapfre make data-driven business decisions. The team analyzes premium, agency, and claims data to uncover trends, generate actionable insights, and identify opportunities to drive growth and profitability within Massachusetts' largest personal automobile insurance company.

 

Internship Overview

 

As a State Management Analytics Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with real business data and contribute insights that help shape strategic decisions. You will analyze Mapfre's data to identify business improvement opportunities and develop recommendations that will be presented to senior leadership.

 

This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while gaining firsthand exposure to analytics, business strategy, and the insurance industry.

 

Potential Projects

Sample projects may include:

  • Identifying unprofitable driver segments and recommending strategies to improve profitability
  • Analyzing insurance agent sales behaviors to identify underserved customer needs and growth opportunities
  • Researching claims cost trends to uncover operational and profitability opportunities
  • Using data analytics to support strategic business decisions and performance improvement initiatives

 

Throughout the internship, you'll gain experience interpreting complex data, developing business recommendations, and communicating findings to key stakeholders.

We're seeking analytical, curious, and collaborative students who enjoy solving business challenges through data.

 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong database skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • SQL experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with one or more programming languages preferred, including: Python, R, Java Or similar programming languages

Pay Transparency: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

 

Pay Range: $29.00 - $31.00/hr
