Summary:
The Senior Manager, Product Engineering is a seasoned technology leader responsible for driving product development, platform reliability, and the full lifecycle of our enterprise integration capabilities. In this highly visible role, you will lead the Integration Platform/Integration Services team, the group that powers connectivity across internal systems, applications, and external partners. You will ensure engineering excellence, operational stability, and well‑architected, scalable integration solutions, while guiding the organization through modernization and the replatforming of integration services to AWS.
Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies and roadmaps in partnership with senior leadership.
- Manage the overall budget for the product portfolio area.
- Lead and scale high‑performing engineering teams to deliver complex software solutions efficiently and effectively.
- Define and execute a strategic vision for the engineering organization, aligning technology adoption and resource allocation with business goals.
- Mentor and develop engineering managers and other high‑performing leaders.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.
- Analyze business needs and recommend technologies, budgets, and resources to achieve strategic outcomes.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve efficiency, scalability, and customer experience.
- Present technical thought leadership and insights at leadership forums.
- Drive a data‑driven decision‑making culture across engineering.
- Champion organizational alignment and readiness for evolving business needs.
- Oversee the reliability, performance, and operational excellence of the enterprise Integration Platform, ensuring high availability and rapid issue resolution.
- Lead modernization initiatives, including cloud migration, replatforming, and adoption of modern integration patterns and technologies.
- Partner with architecture, security, and product teams to ensure integrations are secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
- Advance observability maturity using platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and other monitoring and alerting tools to ensure proactive detection and resolution of issues.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; Master’s in Computer Science strongly preferred.
- 7–10 years of hands‑on software engineering experience, including leadership of engineering teams and delivery of successful projects.
- Proven ability to build and manage high‑performing engineering teams using data and KPIs.
- Experience running agile practices.
- Strong understanding of data and architectural principles.
- Demonstrated ability to make independent, data‑driven decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to prepare and present executive‑level content.
- Ability to build long‑term strategies and technology roadmaps.
- Experience with Integration Platforms, APIs, and integration patterns.
- Experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch.
- Experience with event messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, SQS, and Kafka.
- Experience with AWS; certification preferred.
- Experience with AWS‑native services including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, RDS, EC2, and ECS Fargate.
- Experience with observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and related monitoring, logging, and tracing tools.
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration governance, observability, and operational best practices.
- Experience managing mission‑critical platforms with high uptime expectations.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range
$150,000 - $185,000
