Summary:
The Senior Manager, Product Engineering is an experienced leader who manages product development and lifecycle management. Leads a team(s) of engineers, related professionals, and support personnel. This type of manager has shown proven success in managing application engineers and her/his technical competency provides a referenceable framework for any language/platform.
Responsibilities:
- Develops strategies and roadmaps in partnership with Senior leadership team.
- Manages overall budget for the product portfolio area.
- Leads and scales high-performing engineering teams to deliver complex software solutions efficiently and effectively.
- Develops and executes a strategic vision for the engineering organization, aligning technology adoption and resource allocation with business objectives.
- Mentors, coaches, and develops engineering managers and other high-performing leaders within the team.
- Fosters a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and excellence within the engineering organization.
- Analyzes business needs and proposes budgets, technologies, and resources to achieve strategic goals.
- Actively seeks out and implements innovative solutions to improve efficiency, scalability, and customer experience.
- Presents technical thought leadership and insights at various leadership forums.
- Drives a data-driven decision-making culture within the engineering organization.
- Champions a culture of alignment, ensuring the people and culture of the organization are prepared to adapt to changing business needs.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. A master’s in computer science is a strong preference.
- 7-10 years' hands on experience in software engineering field. Experience in leading software engineering teams and proven track record of delivering successful projects.
- Proven ability to build and manage high performing engineering teams, measured by data and KPIs.
- Experience of running agile practices.
- Strong experience of data and architectural principles.
- Makes data driven independent decisions.
- Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relations.
- Ability to prepare and present executive content.
- Ability to build long term strategy and roadmap.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range
$150,000 - $180,000
