This position follows a fixed schedule with the following hours:
- Days Off: Tuesday and Wednesday
- Monday, Thursday, and Friday: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Saturday and Sunday: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
As a Security Associate, you will play a critical role in protecting our employees, visitors, facilities, and assets while helping maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment. This position serves as a first responder for life safety and security incidents, including medical emergencies, fire and burglar alarms, evacuations, unauthorized access, and motor vehicle accidents.
The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, highly observant, service-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring the safety and security of our corporate campus.
What You'll Do
Serve as a first responder for medical emergencies, fire alarms, burglar alarms, evacuations, unauthorized entry incidents, and other life safety events.
- Conduct thorough foot and vehicle patrols utilizing security monitoring systems, including the Detex program, to deter criminal activity and protect people, property, and information from theft, loss, or damage.
- Monitor facilities, grounds, and restricted areas for potential safety and security concerns, suspicious activity, policy violations, or unlawful behavior.
- Investigate incidents occurring on company property, including motor vehicle accidents, alarm activations, slip-and-fall incidents, and other security-related events.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and detailed Daily Activity Reports, Incident Reports, and other documentation using various computer applications.
- Escalate and communicate safety, security, and facility concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Manage access control operations, including monitoring lobby entrances, visitor access, fixed security posts, and event-related security assignments.
- Provide professional customer service and support to employees, visitors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Answer and document requests received by phone, radio, or other communication systems.
- Respond to and coordinate emergency services when required using two-way radios and communication devices.
- Provide traffic and pedestrian control throughout company property and ensure fire lanes remain unobstructed.
- Ensure facilities, buildings, and restricted-access areas remain properly secured at all times.
- Provide escort services to employees after normal business hours as needed.
- Implement security and safety procedures in accordance with company policies, training, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with routine inspections of life safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, AEDs, burglar alarms, access control systems, and other security-related equipment.
- Support specialized security functions related to facility access and control systems when assigned.
- Contribute to departmental and organizational goals by supporting additional security and safety-related initiatives as needed.
- Perform all duties in an honest, ethical, and professional manner.
- Work effectively in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, extreme heat, and extreme cold.
Essential Personnel Requirement
This position is designated as an Essential Personnel role. In the event of severe weather, natural disasters, or other emergency situations, employees in this position are required to report to work and perform assigned duties even when normal business operations may be closed.
What We're Looking For
Required Education & Experience
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in security, public safety, emergency response, law enforcement, military service, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive in high-pressure and emergency situations.
- Strong situational awareness and the ability to quickly assess and respond to changing circumstances.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally through two-way radio systems, phones, and other communication devices.
- Strong report-writing and documentation skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate incidents and gather factual information.
- Experience de-escalating tense or volatile situations.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus as operational needs change.
- Ability to remain physically active throughout the shift, including walking, standing, patrolling, and responding to emergencies.

Pay Transparency: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Pay Range: $34,000 - $43,600 (non-exempt)
