Webster, MA, US
Summary:
Are you passionate about building products that make a real impact? Want to drive strategy, influence technology, and deliver next‑generation insurance experiences? We're looking for a dynamic Product Owner to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our Auto and Commercial Lines insurance products.
In this high‑visibility role, you’ll act as the crucial link between business strategy and technical delivery—collaborating with teams across IT, underwriting, claims, operations, actuarial, and customer experience. If you thrive at the intersection of business insight and product innovation, this is your opportunity to shape market‑leading solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Own and champion the product vision and roadmap for assigned Auto and Commercial Lines insurance products.
- Drive product strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals, customer needs, and competitive opportunities.
- Develop and present business cases for new product initiatives and enhancements.
- Lead the full product lifecycle—from ideation and planning through development, launch, optimization, and retirement.
- Prioritize features and functionality, making key decisions that maximize product value.
- Translate business needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for Agile development teams.
- Manage and groom the product backlog, ensuring readiness for development cycles.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners—including IT, underwriting, actuarial, marketing, operations, and claims—to ensure alignment and successful execution.
- Communicate effectively between technical and non‑technical stakeholders throughout design and delivery.
- Leverage customer insights and market intelligence to build competitive, differentiated product offerings.
- Support development of new insurance products or enhancements that deliver measurable customer and business value.
- Oversee release planning, version management, and delivery sequencing.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Retrospectives, as well as long-term strategic planning.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Insurance, Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, underwriting, claims, or equivalent insurance functions.
- Strong understanding of Auto insurance products, market dynamics, and regulatory environments.
- Significant experience with Commercial Lines insurance products, including coverage structures, rating methodologies, underwriting workflows, and regulatory considerations.
- Robust, hands-on experience with Guidewire InsuranceSuite (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter), including configuring product models, understanding rating engines, collaborating on integrations (APIs, microservices, data flows), and guiding development teams through Guidewire best practices. Experience with major Guidewire implementations, upgrades, or cloud migrations strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Agile frameworks and methodologies.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
- Proven ability to apply customer insights to drive product development and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Experience defining and enhancing insurance products in alignment with regulatory, competitive, and customer expectations.
- Understanding of technical systems, capabilities, and constraints—enabling effective decision-making with IT partners.
- Strong facilitation skills with the ability to drive alignment and maintain focus on delivering measurable business value.
