Summary
Drive the strategy, development, and performance monitoring of Property & Casualty insurance products, with shared accountability for growth and profitability. This role sits at the intersection of data analytics, pricing strategy, and product management- leveraging deep, data-driven insights to influence key business decisions.
Analyze performance across multiple levels of granularity—including portfolio, segment, policy attributes, and individual policies- to uncover profit drivers and growth opportunities. Integrate customer behavior, competitive dynamics, and regulatory considerations to inform pricing, product strategy, and business requirements. Serve as a key contributor and leader on cross-functional initiatives, partnering across Product, Actuarial, State Management, Legal, and Technology teams to deliver measurable business impact.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business performance and translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
- Evaluate the impact of product, pricing, and underwriting changes by assessing shifts in conversion, loss ratio, retention, and business mix
- Identify key drivers of profitability and growth by investigating customer behavior, portfolio trends, and emerging patterns across multiple levels of granularity
- Provide timely, data-driven insights to inform business strategies and ensure alignment with profitability and growth objectives
- Support rate, rule, and form filings through analytical insights and development of supporting documentation
- Assess regulatory changes and evaluate implications for product design, pricing strategies, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Actuarial, State Management, Legal, Marketing, Sales Center, Agency Management, IT, and Data Engineering to ensure alignment on strategic and regulatory objectives
- Partner with IT and Data Engineering to define data and analytical requirements and ensure accurate implementation of business logic
- Contribute to the development of scalable data solutions and automated processes to enable efficient, consistent analytics
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability in all analytical outputs used for decision-making
- Communicate insights, recommendations, and market trends clearly and effectively to stakeholders and leadership, including both technical and non-technical audiences
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional initiatives, influencing product, pricing, and strategic decisions across assigned markets or lines of business
- Take shared accountability for top- and bottom-line performance of assigned products and markets
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience.
- 4 - 6 years - or Associates Degree equivalent plus 6 - 8 years.
- Advanced ability to analyze financial performance, profitability, and forecasting, including evaluating top- and bottom-line impacts of business decisions
- Strong business acumen with a high level of curiosity to explore data, understand underlying drivers, and uncover new growth opportunities
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work with complex datasets
- Proficiency in modern data platforms and query tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, SQL, and Python
- Experience with analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms to interpret data and communicate insights
- Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and actionable recommendations
- Intermediate knowledge of actuarial and pricing concepts
- Advanced knowledge of market dynamics and regulatory environments, including familiarity with rate and form circulars from rating bureaus
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners including Product, Actuarial, State Management, IT, and Data Engineering
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex insights clearly to diverse audiences
- Business-related certifications or advanced training in analytics, AI, data, or business strategy are a plus, but not required

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range $77,700 - $115,100
