The Manager, Risk is responsible for the oversight of risk and internal control practices within MAPFRE U.S.A. Corp.. Responsible for planning, implementing and managing all aspects of the Company’s Model Audit Rule procedures. As part of this function, this position will monitor and analyze risks within the Company ensuring risk management policies and strategies follow applicable regulations, rating agency standards, and strategic imperatives of the organization. Finally, this position will monitor all operational risk management activities of the organization (Riskm@p) and ensure compliance with and maintain all Company Solvency II policies.

 

**This is a tiered position, higher level candidates encouraged to apply.  Level to be determined based upon relevant experience for this role.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent related experience preferred.
Experience: 9 - 11 years or Bachelor's Degree equivalent plus 11 - 13 years.
Knowledge: Complete understanding and knowledge of industry, practices, standards, and concepts within field of work and broad business segment. Solid knowledge of management practices.

 

Experience working in Accounting and Finance required. Prior supervision/management experience a preferred. Experience in the second or third line of defense a plus.
Knowledge of internal business processes and the Company’s industry.
Ability to evaluate significant risks and internal controls.
Knowledge of ERM frameworks (i.e. COSO).
Ability to analyze financial statement information.
