The Common Platforms team at MAPFRE USA supports Business Automation, Enterprise Content Management, and Business Process Management capabilities. We provide essential and foundational systems that empower various platforms and experiences for MAPFRE USA’s workforce, agents, and policyholders.

 

As an Engineering Manager at MAPFRE USA, you will lead product development and manage teams of software engineers, technical product managers, and IT support personnel. You have a background as a software engineer and have proven yourself to be highly competent, demonstrating vision, teamwork, and responsibility. This role requires you to guide and mentor your team, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.

 

Your expertise in public cloud environments (such as AWS and Azure), full-stack system and component development, and the adoption of automation platforms and AI/ML through modern software design, tooling, and agile methodologies will be pivotal in shaping and achieving our product roadmaps.

 

The ideal candidate for this role is highly motivated, collaborative, and technically proficient, with the ability to coordinate across teams, manage programs and projects, coach and develop engineers and technical product managers, and empower both themselves and others to strive for and achieve excellence.

 

Education: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

 

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with a solid understanding of full-stack development and cloud technologies. Proven experience in leading software engineering teams and a track record of delivering successful projects.
  • Proven ability to build and manage high-performing engineering teams, with performance measured by data and KPIs.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects, including leading and mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Extensive expertise in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, DAD).
  • Significant experience with AWS (developer or solutions architect certification preferred).
  • Strong understanding of data and architectural principles.
  • Proven success in developing and delivering AI/ML, automation, and cloud-based products and solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor presentations for diverse audiences.

Experience with management, delivery, and operations of the end-to-end lifecycle of IT services.
