Interns will also participate as a team in a Day of Caring community service project.
This is a 10-week summer internship from June 1, 2026 and ending August 7, 2026. Interns will typically work a 5-day workweek at 38.75 hours / week. Interns work with their department supervisor to determine weekly schedules. Interns must commit to the 10-week program for the summer and participate in planned training and activities.
Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college degree program. Must be able to provide own transportation.
Department: MUSA Product Engineering – Distributions & Digital Services
Internship Position Description:
You will be part of a collaborative team responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications. Candidate will work under the guidance of senior engineers and contribute to the full software development lifecycle.
Department-specific responsibilities, project description, deliverables, etc.:
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Assist in the design and implementation of new features and enhancements.
- Debug and resolve software defects and issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, Product, and DevOps.
- Document technical specifications and system designs.

- Proven hands-on experience in software development and coding.
- Strong understanding of database systems and cloud application architecture.
- Practical experience in both frontend and backend development.
- Familiarity with cloud-native applications and microservices-based architectures.
- Solid grasp of Agile methodologies and practices.
- Proficient in using version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket), including branching and merging strategies.
- Awareness of DevSecOps principles and practices.
- Understanding of application performance metrics and their impact on system behavior.
Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at MAPFRE are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Hourly Range $27.00 - $29.00
