Information Security Architect
Join Mapfre’s Information Security team and help shape the future of secure technology across a global organization. We’re looking for an innovative and collaborative Information Security Architect who is passionate about designing resilient solutions, driving best‑in‑class security practices, and partnering across the business to protect our enterprise.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with business leaders, IT teams, and Information Security management to ensure security principles are embedded into new and existing technologies, platforms, and applications.
- Design, develop, and implement security architectures that align with business goals—balancing protection, cost efficiency, and user experience.
- Conduct risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend strategic remediation actions.
- Support the execution and continuous improvement of Mapfre’s Information Security Program, including policies, strategy, and process enhancements.
- Contribute hands‑on expertise in areas such as AWS cloud migrations, firewall administration, and application/system vulnerability management.
A higher‑level Senior Information Security Architect may be considered based on experience.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- CISSP or an equivalent information security certification (required within 24 months of hire).
- 6–8 years of professional experience in a cybersecurity‑related role.
Technical Expertise
- Secure coding practices and code review
- Check Point, Fortinet, and Palo Alto firewall engineering
- Zscaler administration and troubleshooting
- Serverless and container‑based computing
- Cloud infrastructure & administration (AWS/Azure)
- Static and dynamic application security testing
- TCP/IP networking, DNS, and routing
- Microsoft Windows (Server & Desktop)
- Vulnerability assessment and remediation
- Linux/UNIX environments
- Identity and access management
- Oracle or other SQL databases
- Project management experience
Communication & Business Skills
- Ability to translate complex security concepts for both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities
- Experience developing policies, standards, and proposals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly effective at relationship‑building, collaboration, coaching, and influencing
Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range $100,900 - $165,000
