Job Summary
Position is responsible for MAPFRE USA’s (MUSA) environmental and sustainability reporting and analysis to various stakeholders including local and corporate departments and state regulators. The position will require data management and analysis, report development, presentation skills, oversight of various projects, and new initiative developments related to our environmental and sustainability efforts.
- Lead and coordinate internal and external audits related to environmental reporting and analysis for ISO 50001, 14001, and 14064 certifications. Responsible for data collection, including electric and natural gas usage, water usage, sustainable mobility and fuel consumption, and waste/recycling across all MUSA locations by monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting through various systems and tools. Collaborate with other environmental data owners for their reporting. Provide analysis and presentations on the data results, including in writing, in person, and via Teams. Ensure consistent information is provided to various departments including MUSA Sustainability, MAPFRE Corporate Sustainability, and various MUSA committees as requested. Implement documentation best practices to ensure information is centralized, organized, and accurate.
- Responsible to contribute information to various regulatory agencies via periodic reporting to state divisions of insurance, the NAIC reporting on the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and providing updates to sections of the annual Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) Report, which includes follow-up with various departmental officers.
- Manage the Corporate Strategy for offsetting Greenhouse Gas Emissions Environmental Footprint 2020-2030, including Carbon Footprint projects that will require managing the budget along with additional research, negotiation, and project management potentially with non-profit organizations. Report periodic updates to the MUSA and MAPFRE Corporate Sustainability areas.
- Assess all MAPFRE USA locations to implement ISO, environmental, and sustainability best practices. Review various Facilities Department projects for environmental and carbon footprint impacts, including potential solar and recycling projects for select locations. Research projects that align with the environmental footprint strategy that continues to ensure MUSA is investigating all options for reducing our environmental footprint.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, including sustainability management, Finance, Business Administration, Auditing, or equivalent related experience preferred.
Experience: 5 years of experience, preferably in environmental/sustainability management, audit or reporting in a corporate setting, and data analytical skills.
Knowledge: Extensive level of professional knowledge in field across multiple disciplines. Extensive knowledge of management practices. Knowledge of MAPFRE systems, ability to work in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint.
