Summary:
Software engineers apply engineering principles and knowledge of programming languages to build software solutions for end users. Design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications. Be part of a cross-functional team that includes other software engineers, as well as part of the product team. Have more autonomy and ownership over your work and make decisions and take actions based on customer feedback and data.
- Demonstrates exceptional communication, influencing stakeholders across different levels, inspiring and motivating teams to achieve product goals.
- Leverages deep technical expertise to design innovative, scalable, and maintainable solutions with a long-term technical vision for the enterprise.
- Works effectively across multiple dependent products, considering interdependencies and ensuring smooth product integration.
- Collaborates with engineering managers, product managers, and architects on product planning, prioritization, and technical roadmaps.
- Strategically evaluates new technologies, builds a business case for adoption, and leads successful implementation across the organization to drive innovation and improve efficiency.
- Maintains a strong external presence, staying current with industry trends and bringing valuable outside perspectives to the team and organization.
- Continuously seeks opportunities to improve technical processes, tools, and methodologies within the team.
- Fosters a culture of learning and mentorship, actively coaching and developing junior, mid-level, and senior engineers within the team.
- Ensures software quality by identifying and rectifying defects while validating software specifications.
- Develops and executes quality control processes to meet established quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field required.
- 8-10 years of experience in relevant programming languages, and software development principles, experience working on complex enterprise-level products, and a proven track record of leading and mentoring large teams required.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range:
$145,000 - $176,000
