Job Summary
As a Dev Ops engineer you will be responsible for working with Architecture, Information Security, Business Applications and other groups to introduce automation tools and processes within a Jenkins pipeline to improve code delivery speed, accuracy and agility. While the initial focus will be on automating areas of code quality, CI/CD and DevSecOps you will also be responsible for developing the automation that assists in delivering, maintaining, and monitoring the infrastructure, which hosts a myriad of services from multiple products and platforms. You must stay informed of new technologies, delivering and recommending solutions that ensure scalability and efficiency throughout the development lifecycle.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience.
Experience: 4 - 6 years - or Associates Degree equivalent plus 6 - 8 years.
Knowledge: Complete understanding and knowledge of industry practices, standards, and concepts within field of work. Applies them to perform or lead work requiring extensive analytical business skills.
Decision Making: Makes decisions using broad management limits. Applies guidelines and procedures that leave considerable room for discretion and interpretation. Decisions directly influence project, client relationships and or expenditures. Additionally, decisions exert some influence on organization's long-range goals and objectives. Participates in determining objectives of assignments.
Supervision Received: Works independently under general supervision. Work is reviewed for overall adequacy in meeting objectives.
Leadership: Provides guidance and training to less experienced staff as needed. Takes a lead role in group, team or project.
Problem Solving /Operations/Direct Work Involvement: Applies knowledge to determine solutions to complex problems with minimal direction. Uses research and analysis to develop innovative and practical solutions which are consistent with organizational objectives.
Client Contacts: Manages internal and external relationships. Represents organization as prime contact for projects and other necessary communications. Interaction may include senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring complex coordination between organizations. Communication involves persuasion and negotiation, as applicable. Seeks ways of improving client service.


Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Responsible for developing and executing a Development Operations (DevOps) strategy to ensure quality software deployments and overall application health and performance.
Optimizes relationships between the development, quality assurance and IT operations teams.
Promotes communication, integration, and collaboration for enhanced software development productivity.
Develops infrastructure to incorporate latest technology best practices and improve operational performance. Requires broad technical knowledge and experience across a variety of IT areas, including infrastructure, development, operations, and quality assurance.


Expertise with cloud platforms(AWS, Azure or GCP) . Strong preference for AWS. AWS Certified a Plus

Demonstrated ability to automate through scripting using one or more of the following:  Shell Scripting, Powershell, Perl

Strong Experience with Jenkins is mandatory - Lead efforts to configure, build, automate, and deploy our CI/CD pipeline; from Developer desktops to Production deployment.

Experience with Bitbucket \ Git features and best practices

Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems

Experience building and packaging Java, SpringBoot and Node with Maven / Gradle

Demonstrated experience using some of the following is required (Splunk, Nexus, SonarQube, Checkmarx, automated testing tools) is required.

Experience with Docker \ Kubernetes is a plus

Demonstrated ability to partner and work effectively across departments in order to architect and deliver a secure and scalable DevOps pipeline.

Experience with deploying and administering monitoring and logging solutions, source control, automation, continuous integration and deployment.

Work with our Information Security team to define, configure, and maintain security best practices in DevOps processes and code deployment.
