Summary
Senior IT leader responsible for the end-to-end delivery of multiple large-scale programs and initiatives within the organization. Ensures timely, on-budget, and high-quality outcomes that directly support business goals and strategic priorities. The Delivery Director oversees a portfolio of programs and projects spanning core policy administration, claims, underwriting, digital channels, data modernization, cloud migrations, and system integrations.
Responsibilities
- Align IT delivery with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and customer outcomes.
- Govern a multi-program portfolio: prioritization, budgeting, risk management, dependency management, and benefits realization.
- Lead cross-functional teams (PMs, program managers, architects, vendors, and agile squads) to execute complex transformations.
- Leverages AI and data analytics to optimize engineering processes, measure performance, and inform strategic decision-making.
- Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and offshore/onshore delivery partners.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, data privacy, security controls, and audit readiness across programs.
- Drive delivery excellence through scalable methodologies (e.g., SAFe, Agile PMO) and continuous improvement metrics.
- Communicate progress and value to C-suite stakeholders, business units, and regulators; report on KPIs such as time-to-market, cost-to-serve, quality, and customer/supplier satisfaction.
- Develop and mentor senior delivery leaders, talent pipelines, and succession plans.
- Champions a culture of alignment, ensuring the people and culture of the organization are prepared to adapt to changing business needs and technologies.
- Develops strategies and roadmaps in partnership with senior leadership related to tools and technologies and overall IT operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field. A master’s degree in computer science is a strong preference.
- 8 – 15+ years of IT leadership within financial services or insurance.
- Proven track record delivering large, multi-year programs with significant budgets (often tens to hundreds of millions), with high quality and on time and budget at an expert level.
- Deep experience with core insurance platforms (policy administration, claims, billing) and modern cloud architectures.
- Ability to inspire teams and bring positive energy.
- Strong experience of Guidewire, other COTS products and data & architectural principles.
- Strong governance, risk/compliance, vendor management, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strong executive presence.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive influencing skills.
- Ability to build long term strategy and roadmap.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards relevant to US insurers (HIPAA, GLBA, SOC 2, state insurance regulations) and audit requirements.
- Strong vendor management capabilities both in product and service areas.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range
$152,535 - $201,400
