Claim Rep Sr, Casualty (Hybrid)

Summary
Bring your passion to our Claims Team! In this position, individuals will be handling a pending of Automobile Casualty losses to primarily include moderate severity Bodily Injury and Un/Under Insured Motorist claims. This position requires proficiency in interpreting Personal and Commercial Auto policies and may require multi-jurisdictional claims handling.
Responsibilities
- Refers to and interprets policies and practices for guidance and accurate application.
- Responsible for all components of the adjustment process to include screening new losses to determine coverage exposures, thoroughly investigating liability, evaluate claim values, negotiate final disposition of claims with appropriate parties, and issue timely and accurate payments if appropriate.
- Will be exposed to and responsible for litigation and/or arbitration management of claims.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or professional-level knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent related experience required.
- Associate’s degree plus 4–6 years of experience, or
- 2–4 years of related experience without a degree.
- Minimum of 2 years of claims adjusting experience required.
- Completion of the Casualty Claims Training Program required.
- Insurance industry education or additional claims-related certifications preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate frequently, professionally, and timely with medical providers, customers, and attorneys through oral and written correspondence.
- Strong telephone customer service skills, including the ability to empathize with claimants and customers.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment with high daily workloads.
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and business judgment skills, with the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to craft and deliver varied messages and participate in negotiation and persuasion when appropriate.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage a pending caseload to meet established productivity goals.
- May assist with the training and coaching of other claims personnel.
- Basic PC/CRT skills, including accurate keyboarding ability.
- Strong math skills and the ability to perform under time-sensitive conditions.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range $52,100 - $81,500
