Summary

 

Daily responsibilities include the production of Commercial Lines policies (BOP, CPP, GL, IM, FIRE, Business Auto, Garage) by screening, pre-underwriting, coding and the data entry of new business, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations. Provides customer service by corresponding with and assisting the Mapfre Insurance agency force, Commercial Lines Underwriters, and company personnel with processing issues including premium quotes.

 

Responsibilities

  • Learn to utilize the Commercial Lines Procedures and Manuals as resources for research and processing commercial property policies.
  • Learn the automated and manual policy processing and entry systems, and their ancillary support systems, in order to effectively produce commercial policies and the manual lines of business such as Commercial Package, General Liability, Umbrella, Inland Marine, Fire policies, Business Auto policies and Garage policies.
  • Learn to process new business application submissions, including: screening for completeness and accuracy; telephone support with agencies; proper documentation; data entry; and maintaining a manual diary system for the endorsements and coverages that cannot be processed through the automated policy administration system.
  • Learn to process change endorsements, renewal listing reports, premium quotes, cancellations and reinstatements in the policy administration system including pre-underwriting, telephone correspondence and proper documentation.
  • Learn to manually process transactions that cannot be processed through the automated issuance system. This includes the reconciliation of any edit and error reports.
  • Learn to process new business, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and reinstatements for the manual lines of business including the manual rating, coding and data entry of these transactions. This includes the reconciliation of any batch, advisory or fatal edit reports, along with the weekly and monthly Closing procedures.
  • Provides ratings assistance to Commercial Lines Underwriting and supporting departments, and Mapfre Insurance agents.
  • Learns to utilize advanced rating methods to accommodate large and complex accounts.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 0–1 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated math and analytical abilities are required, along with both sound written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to data enter a minimum of 90 gross keystrokes per minute within accuracy standards 

 

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

 

Salary Range $43,900 - 50,400
