Summary
Our Actuarial team is seeking a highly motivated, business-minded professional with a strong track record of generating and implementing innovative ideas. This individual will play a key role in delivering high-impact actuarial analyses aligned with Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) principles.
In this role, you will serve as a lead analyst supporting our actuarial state pricing team, partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders to identify business challenges, analyzing underlying drivers, and deliver actionable recommendations that improve overall business performance and profitability.

What You’ll Do
- Build deep expertise in personal lines auto, homeowners, and/or commercial lines insurance products
- Lead and support actuarial analyses for rate changes and strategic initiatives, including:
- Evaluating pricing for new and existing rating elements and coverages
- Quantifying top-line and bottom-line impacts of both rate and non-rate actions
- Assessing and forecasting the effects of product, market, and economic changes on profitability and rate adequacy
- Apply data-driven decision-making while leveraging sound actuarial judgment
- Utilize strong technical skills (particularly SQL) to efficiently retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data across multiple sources
- Work independently with a high degree of accountability, including performing reasonability checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Clearly communicate analytical findings, insights, and recommendations to peers, business partners, and senior leadership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders
- Identify opportunities and recommend/implement process and methodological improvements
- Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to less experienced team members
- Actively pursue actuarial credentialing through the CAS pathway, progressing toward ACAS designation
What You’ll Bring
- 3–5 years of actuarial experience or equivalent related expertise
- Progress toward actuarial credentialing with 3–5 CAS exams completed
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline OR equivalent professional-level knowledge in a specialized field combined with related experience
- Proven experience conducting intermediate-level quantitative analyses
- Strong foundation in actuarial, analytical, and coding techniques
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with business partners and senior leadership
- Experience contributing to or implementing methodology and process improvements
- Ability to independently complete intermediate analyses, with exposure to more complex projects under managerial guidance
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and recommend prioritization of tasks

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range $$77,700 - $117,900
