We are seeking a dynamic Executive Leader to drive the maintenance, modernization, and strategic evolution of our products, tools, and underwriting practices. Key Responsibilities
- Market Positioning & Growth: Partner with State teams to analyze market performance, ensuring alignment with growth and profitability objectives.
- Performance Excellence: Develop best-in-class oversight frameworks, including underwriting benchmarks and measurable performance indicators, driving accountability and results.
- Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with underwriting operations, legal, and security/compliance teams to ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Product Roadmap Leadership: Design and manage a strategic roadmap, coordinating with pricing, data science, underwriting, compliance, marketing, claims, customer service, and digital product teams to ensure seamless delivery.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Set clear expectations, communicate prioritization decisions, and articulate product strategy across all levels of the organization.
- Brand Alignment: Work closely with Marketing to align product and underwriting strategies with brand identity and value propositions.
- Vendor Strategy: Evaluate and optimize vendor partnerships to enhance product efficiency, pricing accuracy, and underwriting effectiveness.
- Trend Analysis & Innovation: Monitor external market trends, assess risks and opportunities, and lead initiatives that position the organization as an industry innovator.
- Strategic Leadership: Direct and develop mid- to long-term strategies for product, pricing, and underwriting policies and standards.
- Team Development: Mentor and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Execution Enablement: Ensure all teams have the necessary information and resources to implement product changes effectively.
- Technical Excellence: Collaborate with technical leaders to promote a culture of critical thinking and technical rigor within product and underwriting functions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 9–11 years of relevant experience (or Master’s degree plus 7–9 years).
- 7+ years of management experience with proven leadership in Product, Underwriting, and Innovation.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Expertise in product strategy, underwriting, and agile methodologies.
- Exceptional communication skills to articulate priorities and roadmap decisions.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
- Resilient and tenacious leader who thrives under pressure and navigates complex environments with confidence.
- Proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams, set clear goals, and create growth opportunities.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at MAPFRE are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range $200,000-$240,000
