Job Summary
Leads the development and expansion of agency business for Century and has accountability for overall growth results.  Oversees the growth of existing clients, including key partnership with largest agency partner, as well as developing new accounts.  Owns development and maintenance of Training Materials to educate agencies on benefits of Century and product details.  Main client contact for any issues/escalations, collaborating with all departments throughout organization to address concerns while identifying and implementing process improvements.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent related experience preferred.
Experience: 9 - 11 years or Bachelor's Degree equivalent plus 11 - 13 years.
Knowledge: Extensive level of professional knowledge in field across broad disciplines and business segments. Extensive knowledge of general management, strategy and policy-setting practices. Comprehensive knowledge of automotive space, with detailed knowledge on all aspects of warranty products, reinsurance and similar programs.
Decision Making: Decisions have a major impact on the entire company's results. Interprets and operationalizes company policies. Responsible with other top managers for setting division, group, company, or corporate-wide policies and objectives. Responsible for a division, function, or multiple major business segments, which are directly impacted by decisions taken.
Supervision Received: Work is received in objective-oriented terms, with an emphasis on strategic as well as more near-term priorities. Work is reviewed from a strategic, relatively long-term perspective against major objectives.
Leadership: Responsible for leading and influencing peers throughout the organization to advocate for clients’ needs and help the business focus on the most important items to drive profitable growth.  Network across entire division to optimize workflows and be a driver of client and customer success.

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Superior knowledge of the automotive space, including independent agents, dealers, and competitors on a countrywide basis. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, planning and organizational skills. Proven track record in sales and people management. Ability to work independently with remote supervision.
Strong level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

 

  • Works closely with the applicable Agency leadership and the Product, Claims, Underwriting, Actuarial, and IT departments to develop products, pricing, agency compensation, contracting, systems and operations that are consistent with the corporate objectives.
  • Develops and implements business strategies to support top-line and bottom-line results.
  • Works with existing agency partners to increase utilization, expand geographic footprint and capture new accounts.
  • Responsible for developing new agency relationships and conquest new business to drive profitable growth. 
  • Organizes, plans, manages and fulfills the company’s objectives and goals in the management of the Agency and Dealership business, focused on both Reinsured and Retained business.
  • Develops growth opportunities through strategic planning, competitive analysis, new appointments, direct sales programs, alternate distribution relationships, marketing campaigns and business analysis.
  • Works closely with the applicable leadership on agency programs, compensation strategies and business profile targets.
  • Creates, maintains, and provides appropriate training for Independent agents which develops their proficiencies in all company products, filings, systems and procedures including, but not limited to, vehicle service contract rating and coverages, underwriting guides, agency contracts, profit sharing agreements, agency production and experience reports.
  • Oversees overall agency appointments, profitability programs, quality of business targets and agency commitments.
  • Works with Product Development, Underwriting, Business Development, and Operations to capture Market research on competitors and the market’s potential.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of industry competitors and keeps peer leadership updated on changes.
