Position is Hybrid in Webster MA
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship.
Primary Responsibilities
▪ Develop datasets that serve as sources for various reports and enterprise data marts.
▪ Analyze datasets – perform exploratory analysis, data manipulation, or data modeling for deliverables.
▪ Leads or facilitates meetings to translate business needs into clearly defined, well-documented, high-quality requirements to support future reporting and visualizations.
▪ Provides consultative assistance to cross-functional teams and external departments working with data.
▪ Assists in the development of complex ad hoc reporting.
▪ Exercises discretion and applies critical thinking relative to analysis, planning, and/or implementation of critical business initiatives.
▪ Provides prescriptive recommendations for action as part of reporting based on analysis of requested data. ▪ Applies data best practices to ensure the quality and accessibility of assembled datasets
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience. Degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or a related quantitative analytical field.
Experience: 2 - 4 years - or Associates Degree equivalent plus 4 - 6 years.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in working with comparative rater applications and understanding of relational application practices
- Strong ability to analyze user requirements and build front-end BI applications according to specifications.
- Understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate concurrent projects.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Programming skills in SQL, SAS, VBA, EXCEL
- Proficient in merge/purge, query, and reporting in SAS, DBMS (e.g. Oracle, DB2, ACCESS), and other systems.
- Proficient quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in insurance, banking, credit card or other financial industries, or comparable consulting experience.
- Experience working within multiple platforms on various databases, i.e. VCGI04, AS400, Diamond, TronWeb.
- Strong analytical, communication, and time management skills required.
- SQL Server, Teradata, UNIX, LINUX, MVS, R, Congos
- C, C++, JAVA, or other programming languages
- Database design
