Field Investigator, SIU

Summary:
This position requires a high level of independence due to the extensive field work necessary to assist the claims adjusting staff with the investigation of losses presented under Personal, Commercial and Life policies.
Responsibilities:
- All tasks assigned in association with the investigation of losses to include, but not limited to, claims within Casualty, Physical Damage, No-Fault, Commercial/CCU and Property. Assigned tasks may also include the assisting of Medical Provider, Underwriting, Agency investigations as well as any other investigative needs that may arise.
- Establish working relationships with federal, state, and local law enforcement and participate in fraud fighting organizations to enhance knowledge and cooperation within the industry.
- Frequent in-person contact with the public and customers is required, and this should be timely and professional.
- Participation in the training of other claims personnel.
- May be required to work outside of their assigned territory as well as outside of regularly scheduled hours dependent on the tasks assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience.
- 4 - 6 years - or Associates Degree equivalent plus 6 - 8 years.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in adjusting claims involving some elements of Physical Damage, PIP, Casualty and SIU related issues required and/or 5 years professional investigative experience with law enforcement agency.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field highly desirable.
- Knowledge of IFB and NICB investigative abilities and reporting requirements preferred.
- Knowledge and proper use of M.G.L Chapter 175 Section 113H or similar state specific fraud statutes.
- Insurance coursework strongly preferred, e.g. SCLA, CIFR or CIFI
- Possession of and/or willingness to obtain and maintain out-of-state licenses.
- Bilingual skills a plus.
