REINSURANCE UNDERWRITER

MAPFRE RE, professional reinsurer of the MAPFRE Group and one of the leading reinsurers in the world, is currently looking for a Senior Underwriter in Beijingy. This position requires experience within the reinsurance industry, as well as strong analytical, organizational and prioritization skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to)

• Analyse underwriting submissions and reinsurance structures with the aim to develop solutions in agreement with Technical Criteria set by HQ UW Department.
• Manage a portfolio of profitable business in the Team with the focus on maintaining requested profitability and adequate level of service to our Clients.
• Collaborate with Market Manager to develop and execute on a business plan together with the local UW team.
• Conduct and enable risk analyses, reporting on technical results and important Market losses and contribute to drafting local underwriting policy.
• Marketing activity in the specific region including regular travel and meeting with Clients.
• Contribute to group projects in cross functional and international teams.

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years' minimum experience in reinsurance Underwriting is required.
• Market knowledge and experience in any of the focused regions.
• Strong communicator and a real team player.
• Flexible and open to change.
• Sound analytic skills demonstrated through an understanding of underwriting concepts and contractual language. 
• Microsoft Office skills and the ability to understand and use in-house pricing tools.
• University degree in Law, Economics, Engineering or equivalent.
