Join our dynamic Reinsurance Accounting team as a Staff Accountant, apply analytical techniques to drive insights and innovation within Century Automotive Service Corporation (Century). You will facilitate the financial statement process by using robust reconciliation methods, therefore driving accurate results. This role works within a highly collaborative environment, influencing projects with high visibility and direct impact on the Century company strategy.
Summary:
The Staff Accountant utilizes technical knowledge and decision-making skills to maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial statements, reconcile accounts, and assist with tax preparation for more than 200 Reinsurance Companies. Plays a crucial role in ensuring the company’s financial health and supporting informed decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Perform complex reconciliation of Trust statements, general expenses, premium fees, loan payments and other items to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Tracking and maintenance of annual corporate filing renewals for more than 200 client companies; drafting of year-end financial statements and tax filings for each company.
- Tracking and maintenance of all shareholder loans including preparation and execution of loan documents.
- Correspondence with internal and external clients and business associates.
- Maintain effective and productive business relationships with business teams. Conduct oneself in a professional, responsible, and ethical manner at all times.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as assigned by Reinsurance Accounting management.
Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including excellent attention to detail, are required.
- Associates or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, Business/Technology Management or related field. Equivalent experience plus 4 years with financial statement experience.
- Verbal and written communication skills are required. Individual must possess the ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels, including Senior Management.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically including Microsoft Excel. Intermediate Accounting software experience preferred.
Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MT / Hybrid schedule available
This position pays $22 - $25/hour, to start, with comprehensive benefits as of Day One.
